The ground rules for using FindMyNPI: what the data is, what it isn't, and the limits of how it may be used.
By accessing FindMyNPI you agree to the terms set out below. If you do not agree, do not use the site.
What FindMyNPI is
FindMyNPI is a directory of healthcare providers in the United States, sourced from the public-domain NPPES dataset published by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. The site is provided as a free public reference. It is not a healthcare provider, an insurance carrier, a billing intermediary, or an agent of any government body, and nothing on the site constitutes medical, legal, financial, or professional advice.
No warranty
The information shown on FindMyNPI is reproduced from a public registry and is provided "as is" with no representations or warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that records are current, that providers listed are actively practising, that practice locations are accurate, that telephone numbers connect to the provider, or that the dataset is free of errors or omissions. We do not verify state licensing status, board certification, malpractice history, or any other regulatory aspect of any provider's practice.
Verification is your responsibility
If you intend to act on any information shown on this site (for example, by contacting a provider, scheduling an appointment, submitting a claim, citing the record in correspondence, or making any healthcare decision), you must independently verify the information against the canonical NPPES Registry at npiregistry.cms.hhs.gov and against the relevant state licensing authority. We strongly recommend telephoning the provider's office before relying on a listed practice address.
Permitted use
You may view, reference, and link to any page on the site for personal, journalistic, research, academic, or professional reference purposes. Search engine indexing is permitted. Caching by browsers, intermediate proxies, and standard CDN infrastructure is permitted.
Prohibited use
You may not scrape the site at scale, attempt to bypass rate limits, deploy automated harvesting tools, mirror the site, or reproduce substantial portions of the directory in your own product. The underlying NPPES dataset is in the public domain and freely available from CMS; obtain it from the source if you need bulk access. You may not use the site or its data to harass, defraud, impersonate, or build a profile of any individual, nor to construct unsolicited marketing lists targeting healthcare providers. You may not submit false abuse reports or false opt-out requests to interfere with another provider's listing.
Advertising disclosure
The site is funded through display advertising, including Google AdSense or a comparable network. Advertisements are clearly distinguishable from editorial content. Provider records and search rankings are not influenced by advertising relationships and we do not accept payment from providers in exchange for placement, suppression, or favourable treatment of records.
Limitation of liability
Under no circumstances will FindMyNPI, its operator, or its hosting providers be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or exemplary damages arising from use of the site or reliance on its information. Your sole remedy if you are dissatisfied with the site is to stop using it.
Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. The current version is effective as of the date shown below. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
