A clean, public window into the NPPES registry.
FindMyNPI is a healthcare provider directory built on the public CMS NPPES registry. The data is already public. We just make it easier to search, read, and share.
FindMyNPI is a free public directory of healthcare providers in the United States, built on the National Plan and Provider Enumeration System (NPPES), the federal registry maintained by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. NPPES contains records for individual clinicians (NPI Type 1) and healthcare organisations (NPI Type 2). FindMyNPI indexes the records imported via our monthly NPPES ingestion pipeline and presents them in a fast, link-friendly format.
What you can do here
Look up any provider by their 10-digit NPI number, browse the directory by state, drill down by medical specialty, or combine the two to find every provider of a given specialty in a particular city. Every page is statically generated, returns instantly, and requires no login. Provider information is surfaced exactly as the provider has registered it with CMS, including practice locations, taxonomies, telephone numbers, mailing addresses, and the date their record was last updated.
What FindMyNPI is not
FindMyNPI is an independent project. It is not affiliated with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, the National Plan and Provider Enumeration System, the United States Department of Health and Human Services, or any health insurance carrier. The site is funded through display advertising. Editorial content is written with reference to public sources; provider records are reproduced from the NPPES public-domain dataset and are not edited.
Why this directory exists
The official NPPES Registry website at npiregistry.cms.hhs.gov is the authoritative source, and we encourage anyone who wants to verify a record to consult it directly. However, the official site is built around a search form and is not optimised for browse-style discovery, link sharing, mobile devices, or rapid lookup workflows. FindMyNPI complements the official source by presenting the same public data in a faster, link-friendly format with stable URLs that can be cited and shared.
Data freshness
We refresh the underlying dataset monthly from the NPPES public dissemination file. Because NPPES is itself updated continuously by providers, individual records on this site may lag the official registry by up to thirty days. If you find a stale record, the official source is canonical; if you would prefer not to be listed here at all, see our opt-out page.
